Mapping Tutorial

We want more fan content! This tutorial video shows you how to create a VBO model map for NNK and how to setup everything required for an NNK map!






Thanks for keeping NNK going strong guys, we have a lot of fun playing with you in the servers! For anyone who doesn't know, NNK World is now up online with new maps and content for you guys to download and use yourselves! Check it out now!

But we still don't have enough! We want more content from you guys, so DJ-Ready put together this fantastic video tutorial of how you can make new maps just as detailed and fun as our official ones!

And for those of you with the client.dll error, don't worry, the fix will be out soon!

So basically I can map for NNK with my basic Hammer skills, but it wont be with the nice skybox or any shaders etc.? But playable in the same way?

You can definitely apply skyboxes and fog settings to your maps. The settings can be found in your map configs. [gfx/maps]
Watch the video, it explains the basics of the config file, about what each section does. Most of it is self-explanatory anyways.


@ koki smoki - ANBU is not a public character. You can't really play with it.
And please don't go offtopic again.

And how can we use the Trees etc. in Hammer?

The trees are 3ds mesh. Means they have nothing to do with hammer (unless you want to do collisions).
Look at the tutorial. The part where Ready exports the geometry into 3dsmax. That's how you should add your trees.

But is there a way to use single trees without using 3dsmax? Because I do not own it and I heard its really expensive.

I don't know how to model in Milkshape... doesn't NNK come with a default 3DS file for a tree we can use?
