I find it interesting that most people question what their dreams are about and what they mean. How we have "deja vu" and it's mostly related to small lucid dreams that we have sporadically. It's possible a small gland (pineal) in our brain is producing something that could allow us to understand reality more and move us past the primitive ideology that plagues our progression as a species.  I'm aware that the pineal gland produces melatonin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melatonin), something that affects your sleep patterns.  But, DMT seems to affect you while you're sleeping.

Also, I'm someone who practices Martial Arts, specifically Tai Chi.  So, I'm aware of the somewhat linear philosophies that Taoism presumes.  All this stuff seems to correlate towards what the DMT (that naturally exists in our bodies) is apparently doing for us.  I wonder if ******** or any theology is merely a tool used to activate the DMT in our brains.

Does anyone know of a specific article or theory that counters Rick Strassman's studies with DMT (http://www.rickstrassman.com/) and/or also has the hunch that maybe this is just some new-age spin?

I suggest erowid.org for research on this
Also, Salvia is about on the same level of DMT.  I've done both.  All psychedelics generally lead to the same thing though, ego loss.
Terence McKenna is the pioneer of DMT.

Water..

Personally the worst substance I've encountered is Datura.  Not that I've ever attempted it but I know at least 20 diff people who woke up in a hospital from it.  It grows everywhere since it's a weed plus it's legal to order online.  You would get basically the same effect from taking Benadryl or Dramamine.  It is a deliriant that dehydrates you and gives you a flu so high you see hallucinations.  This is how benadryl works, it gives you a flu so your immune system shuts down.

Salvia, DMT and Datura are the most intense substances on the planet though only Datura is really known for causing death.  It has many forms, some even sold in health stores for breathing purposes but it is also a popular form of poison.  Belladonna, Mandrake, Angel trumpets.. all the same source.

I think Vox pretty much nailed it on the head when he posted:

Terence McKenna is the pioneer of DMT.

In my half informed opinion of many eastern philosophies, this seems to be the goal, at least when you're meditating.
