As long as i dont get involved or dragged in to anything related to gay people, since i do know some bisexual people, i couldnt care less about what they do. Dont see the point of trying to control another persons life based on my own ideals and how i live my own life. So if they want to get married, then its not my say in if can or not. But as long as it doesnt affect me i aint gonna care. ^^

I think you may have missed Tim's point; I don't think he's conjecturing that he doesn't care because it doesn't affect him. He's saying, in a nutshell, "What right do I have to tell a person how to run his/her life?"

Jumping in to, say, save a person from getting stabbed by an aggressive person on the street hardly qualifies as running the victim's life (under typical circumstances, at least).

Also, the phenomenon you're referring to is well-documented in social psychology, and is called "bystander apathy". If, in fact, it were only the victim, assailant, yourself, and maybe one or two other onlookers, you'd be pretty likely to step in because there's almost nobody around to absolve your responsibility to step in.

How can we say we're progressing as a multicultural race when debating whether same sex couples are entitled the same advantages as heterosexual couples, due to the most popular ******** of the land having a problem with it. Keep religious doctrine away from the state, and give everyone equal rights. Ergo, same sex couples have the same rights as everyone else to have a happy partnership, pursue the same commitment as heterosexual couples and receive the same kind of benefits. Lets not force people to live under the ruling of a religious view or prejudiced.

getting married is not for religious meenings, its as said before to take the next step. it is also a legal dokument that helps people to split their property when they deside it dont work anymore.

whoa how is not helping someone who just got shot or stabbed or something anything like trying to get a gay person to be strait? and its kinda funny you said that, i think every major civilization in history has had homosexuals, and in alot of cases they were widely accepted
